Trend on the Rise: Ankle Cuff Heels

See ya platform peep toes! Ankle Cuff Heels are all the rage this spring 2013 season. I am absolutely obsessed with this trend! They look much more chic and interesting that the same platform pumps everyone has been wearing for years! Ankle Cuff heels give the illusion of longer legs & look amazing paired with some white or colored skinnies for spring! I have seen many celebrities sporting these heels such as Candice Swanepoe and Jessica Biel. I absolutely cannot wait to purchase a pair. Here is some spring shoe-spiration I have found!

Stylist Spotlight: Rachel Zoe

I would have to say that my favorite stylist at the moment is Rachel Zoe. She has it made, but she worked very hard to get there. She works with countless celebrities, has a Bravo! show called The Rachel Zoe Project, and has her own clothing line. We share the same birthday September 1st! Irrelevant, I know, but still really cool! Anyway, she is such an inspiration and encourages everyone to follow their dreams and pursue exactly what they want to pursue!

Underrated: Online Shopping Sites

I have found that the longer you search for something, the better it is. That being said, when I search the internet for a dress for a school dance, bedroom decor, or a trendy backpack, I always find the best ones after searching for hours. Style Icon of the Week: Rihanna

Obsessed is a little bit of an understatement when it comes to how I feel about Rihanna. Her new album is absolutely incredible.My favorites are Love Without Tragedy, Loveee Song, Phresh out the runway & stay. I have been listening to her nonstop for a couple months and I am still trying to find a way to go to her March 22nd concert in Chicago. I love how her style is evolving & I thought I would share my favorite looks for hers lately! Enjoy!

Rihanna launches River Island collection at flagship store. Love the lip color & she can totally rock that side hairstyle! 

Rihanna at the 2012 Grammy's. Black silk cady custom Giorgio Armani gown, Jimmy Choo gold clutch, Christian Louboutin shoes, & Jacquie Aiche body necklace. Loving the deep plunge dress & the added leg slit which adds more oomph to a typical black dress. I like her hair color here because I think it goes well with the dark dress! It is also backless which adds more of an edge which completely suits Rihanna's style!

My all time favorite look for Rihanna was at the 2013 Grammy's. She looked absolutely stunning in a custom Azzedine Alaia dress, Neil Lane jewelry, and Manolo Blahnik shoes.Her hair is GORGEOUS. I love how it is very subtle ombre and it is just curled perfectly. The red lip isn't too overpowering, which is good because of the dress. I love the detail on the dress & how it is see through & mesh material. I absolutely can't get enough of this look for her!

Here she is at LAX in a DKNY jumpsuit just a week ago on March 3rd. She pairs the outfit with chic black booties. She is sporting a really interesting side braid that I am inspired to try to recreate. This outfit just shows how Rihanna can pull of anything. She really does have such confidence & a strong sense of style which is why I adore her so much!

Model Spotlight: Cara Delevigne

If you don't know who Cara Delevigne is, then you must be living under a rock. This British girl has gained so much popularity within the last year. Her eyebrows and personality set her apart from the rest. She seems so fun & I wish I was her best friend!  She is absolutely stunning & I am always so excited to see what she's up to on youtube, tumblr, twitter or instagram. Her style is out there some of the time & I love it. Here are some of my favorite looks of her! What model would you like me to spotlight next?

Here is Cara during London Fashion Week, looking stylish as ever in her red beanie, simple tank top & high waisted jean shorts. Black nikes were added to tie the whole laid back outfit together. 

This is a more recent picture of Cara. Here she is in London with Rita Ora on January 19. I chose this picture because it shows a different side of Cara's style. I especially love the Bally jacket she is wearing. It has great structure and really pulls the whole outfit together.

Here is Cara at her Victoria's Secret debut at the 2012 fashion show where she walked the runway for PINK.

Olive is definitely Cara's color. She stuns at the British Fashion awards in this tight metallic Burberry dress. Her middle part looks gorgeous. This dress was such a good choice for her!

I had to add one picture of her sporting a red lip because it is my absolute favorite on her. She rocks the red lip so well & it inspires me to be more bold with lip colors!

This is my favorite picture of Cara. She looks absolutely stunning. Her hair and makeup compliment each other perfectly and the simple olive tank top really compliments her hair color.

ACNE brand

I have recently been seeing the brand Acne all over tumblr recently & I have become a little obsessed. Although the only U.S. location is in New York, I can't help but lust over all the collections and the entire website. I have especially been eyeing the Acne jeans. They have incredible shape. I have particularly been eyeing the high waisted ones. Here are a few of my favorites I have come across.

Sunglasses Lookbook

Although it is currently 20 degrees and snowing so much school was cancelled today, I can't help but admire all the spring trends that are slowly popping up. A favorite of mine has always been sunglasses. I love the way they pull together any outfit and look chic and trendy. I love my gold aviators from urban outfitters and my black wayfarers from H&M but this year I am researching all different types. Please let me know what your favorite sunglasses are! 

Move over wayfarers and oversized square rims! Round sunglasses are going to become big this spring & summer season. I love the way they look and have yet to try any on to see how they look on my face shape. These Marc Jacobs sunglasses are to die for. 

I absolutely adore Mary Kate's Chanel sunglasses in this picture. Not many people can pull these off, but she sure did. They are so chic and elegant yet unique. They compliment her hair perfectly and are so different from you typical black oversized sunglasses. 

These are a few more sunglasses to use for inspiration. My personal favorites are the ones in the middle, a perfect mix between aviators and wayfarers that remind me of Miley Cyrus in a way. The round ones at the bottom are very trendy for the Spring 2013 season and the wayfarers at the top are your typical wayfarers!

Free People: Boho Chic

Free People has become and ABSOLUTE favorite of mine. I recently visited their Downtown Chicago location at Water Tower Place and admired all the unique pieces that I couldn't afford. I describe my style as boho chic with a hint of edgy. Free People encompasses that for me. Of course, the prices aren't the most reasonable for a 16 year old high school student, when I don't want to splurge, I use the freepeople.com website as inspiration for outfits & then I try to find similar pieces which is actually more fun for me.

Free People was started in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by a man named Dick Hayne. The company's named was changed to Urban Outfitters, then he & his wife decided to branch out and create separate boutiques. The first Free People Boutique opened up in New Jersey and now there are many throughout the U.S.

I have also been OBSESSING over the free people pinterest, instagram, tumblr & youtube channel. So go check it out!!

Here are some of my favorite Free People looks that really encompasses the boho chic vibe. I love the laidback look because it looks like you didn't try too hard and it really just gives such a chill and calm hippy look.

Designer Spotlight: Sass&Bide

I have been absolutely lusting over the Sass&Bide collections and lookbooks lately. Sarah-Jane Clarke(sass) and Heidi Middleton (bide) have created the most unique and absolutely extravagant line I have ever come across. Their pieces are neutral with pops of orange and metallic, they are also geometric, structured yet very feminine.

In 2013, sass&bide will open it's first New York store which will join its 18 boutiques located in Australia and New Zealand.







For the recent LoveShady collection, they turned the table to model Coco Rocha, for 5 days, who I absolutely just adore.
